Valentine's Day is so much fun when there's a child around. Kacie had some serious Valentine's spirit today! We made heart-shaped pancakes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream and drank strawberry milk, which she wasn't entirely sure about at first. I think it was the color; she kept looking at it like there was something wrong, and now that I think about it, I think that may have been the first time she'd seen milk that wasn't white.

We made valentines for each other, too. Or rather, Kacie practiced her scissor skills by destroying a piece of red construction paper and gluing the pieces on a big paper heart. She insisted on making one for Renton, so hopefully we'll run into Raife at the library again soon so she can deliver it. Then she insisted on finger painting, after which I insisted on nap time. Then there was more crafting, and a Dora video, and spaghetti for dinner. All in all, being a two-year-old's valentine wasn't too bad at all. At least, it took my mind off not having an actual valentine for today.
